How to play:
- Choose "New game" in the menu. Small color triangles on the pyramid will start to be permuted.
- Moving a triangle and a direction are defined by two taps: a tap on the chosen triangle, and the next tap to the place you want to move. Note that the entire band surrounding the pyramid is moving (similar to Rubik's Pyramid).
- Rotate the entire pyramid by touching the screen in any place with subsequent moving gestures.
- The final goal is to match colors on all sides of the pyramid.
Additionally:
- You can change the size of the pyramid by choosing "Pyramid Size" in the menu.
- The sliding speed can be adjusted in "Properties" -> "Moving Speed" section of the menu.
- In the "Properties" menu, you can also change the sliding style. The "Classic style" wraps triangles on the other side, while the "Transformer style" rotates the entire triangle at the moment of moving to the other side.
Note: The creation of this puzzle was inspired by the SlideCube game created last year. The idea of using another shape looked very attractive. Unlike SlideCube, which used a cube shape and small squares sliding over its surface, SlidePyramid utilizes a triangular pyramid shape with triangles sliding across its surface. Compared to a cube shape, there are several differences in sliding bands over the pyramid surface. One surprising fact is that folding a straight paper band over the pyramid surface does not follow intuitively expected direction. It folds itself in a direction that is parallel to one of the pyramid's edges. Thus, sliding is accomplished parallel to the edges of SlidePyramid, which differs significantly from rotating Rubik's Pyramid layers - which rotate parallel to faces of the pyramid. Another fact is that you can only slide one small triangle to the position of another triangle with the same orientation. Therefore, the minimal move distance is the length of a small triangle edge. These rules appear more sophisticated than SlideCube and hence more attractive!
